Fae Friday – Laughter

Fae Friday is an awesome new weekly post created by Kristy at Caffeinated Fae. I’m super excited to participate in this (and to have been an avid supporter of it from the beginning)! A topic is provided each week, and Kristy is so welcoming to ideas from others. If you have any ideas for topics, reach out to her through her blog or on Twitter (@caffeinatedfae).

Here’s the rules:

  • Link back to this page on Caffeinated Fae.
  • If the prompt idea comes from another blog, link to that blog as well.
  • Use #FaeFriday when posting to social media so we can all find each other!
  • Participate when you can and have fun with the prompt!

Did you know that in certain lore, a fairy is born from the first laugh of a child? That is why this curious wannabe fae wants to know: What is a book that made you genuinely laugh?

While my reading taste does tend towards the dark and twisty, I do occasionally read books that make me laugh. I’ve had the pleasure of reading a few books that have made me laugh so hard that I could only read them at home, because I was worried that reading them in public would earn me some very strange looks. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Recommended For You by Laura Silverman is an ARC that I just read this week, and it is being released on September 1. I laughed ridiculously hard while reading this book, and I was grateful that I read it while no one was home. You can read my full review of this amazing OwnVoices book here.

Talia Hibbert has a special way of writing incredibly sexy books that are also laugh out loud funny. Get a Life, Chloe Brown and Take a Hint, Dani Brown were two more books that I couldn’t read anywhere but in the privacy of my room, and not just because of the racy scenes! 😉 These two books had me laughing so hard! The characters have such funny conversations and wind up in the most ridiculous situations it is hard NOT to laugh.

What are some funny books that you’ve read? I can always use some laughter in my life!

  1. Ah, even more reason for me to stop putting off reading Hibbert’s books! There are a lot that have actually made me laugh out loud and a lot of them are contemporary romances 😅 But also it doesn’t take much for me to laugh haha great post!

  2. The Strange Planet and Sweet Valley books are definitely good for a laugh. The last book I can remember making me literally LOL was Jon Stewart’s Earth: the Book. It absolutely reads like an episode of The Daily Show and I love it.
