Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.
I have a few people that I consistently rely on for awesome book recommendations. This is my chance to spotlight them!
First and foremost, I want to give a shoutout to Kristy @ Caffeinated Fae. She is my book recommendation guru, and literally every single book that she’s told me to read has been incredible. She’s also an amazing human being and a great blogger, so if you haven’t gotten a chance to check out her blog, I highly suggest that you do so!
Another blogger that I always love reading reviews by is Susan @ Novel Lives. Her book reviews are comprehensive, funny, and reflect her personality in the best way possible, so they’re incredibly amusing. She and I have some similar taste in books, and I’ve found some great books by browsing her blog. Also, she has some of the most amazing overlords cats ever.
Dini @ DiniPandaReads is my bookish twin. She and I have some very similar taste in books as well, and I often get a lot of inspiration from her blog. She posts the most awesome stuff, and I absolutely adore her. So check her out!
- Hook and Pan by Gina L. Maxwell, suggested by Kristy @ Caffeinated Fae. Yes, I know that these are two books, but it’s in the same series, and they’re amazing!
- The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden, suggested by Kristy @ Caffeinated Fae. This Russian fairy tale retelling is such an amazing story, and I love the heck out of it!
- Sparrow by Mary Cecilia Jackson, suggested by Kristy @ Caffeinated Fae. She actually sent me a copy, which I appreciated so much. It’s a really powerful story, and it’s written so well.
- Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert, suggested by Kristy @ Caffeinated Fae. This book is incredible, and it had everything I could have ever hoped for — enemies to lovers romance, chronic illness that was accurately and sensitively portrayed, humor that had me laughing out loud, and scorching sexy scenes.
- The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson, suggested by Susan @ Novel Lives. Man, was this book great. I can’t speak highly enough about this book, so if you haven’t already read it, just read my review and then read the book.
- Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake, suggested by Susan @ Novel Lives. She practically twisted my arm to get me to read this book, but once I started I couldn’t stop. I’m currently reading the last book in the series, and I regret nothing!
- This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab, suggested by Dini @ DiniPandaReads. Ok, so Dini didn’t necessarily suggest THIS book directly, but she did suggest this author, and this was the one that my library had on hand. So of course, I grabbed it, and fell in love with the story and the author’s writing style. I’ll definitely be reading more of her work.
- Harley Merlin and the Secret Coven by Bella Forrest, suggested by my friend Kim. She makes a lot of great suggestions to me, and I’ve taken literally all of them except one, because she a) knows me really well, and b) picks amazing books. This wasn’t the *best* book I’ve ever read, but it was certainly an enjoyable, quick read.
- Recommended for You by Laura Silverman, suggested by Kayla @ Kayla Reads and Reviews. I know Kayla through Twitter, and she suggested that I give this one a read because it was a Jewish OwnVoices book. Plus, it was a sweet YA romance set during Chanukah in a BOOKSTORE, featuring the enemies to lovers that I love so much.
- The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang wasn’t suggested by anyone directly, but I wanted to read it because it just felt like everyone on book Twitter was talking about it, and I wanted to see what it was all about. And let me tell you — the hype was not overrated at all!
I’m always open to hearing about new books to read, so give me some of your favorites!

Sparrow was definitely an underhyped book. I’ve read a few others on your list and liked them too. I got Three Dark Crowns on sale a couple years ago, but still haven’t read it. I need to!

Wow! I don’t think there’s any bigger compliment that you could give a book blogger than that EVERY ONE of her recommendations is on point. That’s huge. I’m going to check out your go-to blogs for sure.
Happy TTT!

What can I say, my peeps know what I like, and make great suggestions? It doesn’t hurt that one is a former bookseller (Kristy) and one is a current bookseller (Susan). I hope you love all their blogs as much as I do!

You’ve got to read The Weaver Trilogy by Lindsay A. Franklin! They are so good! I’ll have a review on the first one tomorrow, so you can get more info from that. It is really good, though!

Awwh, YES! Schwab is the best 😍 I would definitely recommend her other books too. Her Darker Shades of Magic and Villains series are two of my all time faves! I totally second a lot of these other recommendations including Chloe Brown and TPW! They were so great 🙂 I’m now super intrigued by Hook and Pan and I’m going to check them out after this lol great list!
