TTT – Books With Nature On The Cover

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

This week’s topic is books with nature on the cover. Flowers, trees, landscapes, animals, you get the idea. Since this is a pretty broad prompt, I decided to narrow it down a little and stick to books with some type of plant on the cover.

  1. Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo. This huge tree on the cover is gorgeous, and I loved how it tied into the story.
  2. This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron. I haven’t read this one yet, but the gorgeous vines threading throughout the cover and how much I loved Bayron’s previous book has me super excited for this one.
  3. The Lost Warriors by Cait Marie. The cover is stunning, and I absolutely loved the short story.
  4. Small Favors by Erin A. Craig. I seriously love the old-fashioned look of this cover, with the flowers around the edges, and I am looking forward to reading this book soon.
  5. Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender. This is obviously the first book that comes to mind when I think of books with flowers on the cover, and aside from the gorgeous cover, the story itself was just as gorgeous.
  6. The Shadow Man by Helen Fields. The creepy roses on the front of this book perfectly matched the creepy tone of the story.
  7. A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer. I love the deep green cover with thorny vines and a single flower, and figured it definitely fit the bill here. Plus, this one was my favorite book in the trilogy.
  8. The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow. I loved everything about this book, and the cover is so pretty! The flowers along the bottom makes it a shoo-in for this week’s prompt.
  9. Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco. I remember when this ARC fell into my lap, and I loved the cover. The combination of the skull with the snake and rose is the perfect mix of tough, scary, and beautiful, which is a lot like how I viewed the story in this book.
  10. Uprooted by Naomi Novik. The pretty flower on the cover of this book drew my attention and originally compelled me to pick it up. It’s still one of the prettier covers that I’ve grabbed on a whim, and I truly enjoyed the story too.

  7. Uprooted is on my TTT list too, and what better book than a book about a magically usurping forest! And I’m dying to read Small Favors, because I really liked Craig’s House of Salt and Sorrows. ~Lex

  15. I’m glad to know that the tree on the Rule of Wolves cover ties into the story because I was so confused when it was first revealed as to what a tree had to do with the story! This Poison Heart is one of my FAVOURITE 2021 book covers, I have an e-ARC but if I enjoy the book I would definitely be tempted to buy a copy for that cover. I was a tad disappointed with Kingdom of The Wicked as a book, but the cover is lovely.
