Top Ten Tuesday

TTT – Titles Or Covers That Made Me Want To Read The Book

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

I know we aren’t supposed to judge a book by its cover, but let’s be honest. We ALL do it. I’m especially guilty of walking around the library and browsing the shelves, then picking up various books that grab me specifically based on how pretty the cover is. I do read through the summary to see if it also sounds interesting, but a lot of the time it’s the cover that draws my attention. Here’s ten books that I absolutely picked because of how pretty the cover was. Fortunately, the story on the inside was just as good!

  1. Small Favors by Erin A. Craig
  2. House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland
  3. Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep
  4. Hook by Gina L. Maxwell
  5. Uprooted by Naomi Novik
  6. This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron
  7. Fable by Adrienne Young
  8. Cool for the Summer by Dahlia Adler
  9. Rebel Daughter by Lori Banov Kaufmann
  10. The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi

What about you? What book cover or title made you pick up the book?

  1. So many pretty covers! Small Favors is my favorite, and I think that even if I didn’t already know the author it would’ve totally been a cover buy for me

    • The library is one of my favorite places in the world! I actually wrote a post about why I love the library so much, but my local one does a great job of highlighting books with gorgeous covers, increasing my TBR exponentially.

  2. I’m SO bad about cover buying but luckily it works out for me most of the time! Cool for the Summer and This Poison Heart both captured my attention – I’ll have to check them out!
