Fae Friday is an awesome new weekly post created by Kristy at Caffeinated Fae. I’m super excited to participate in this (and to have been an avid supporter of it from the beginning)! A topic is provided each week, and Kristy is so welcoming to ideas from others. If you have any ideas for topics, reach out to her through her blog or on Twitter (@caffeinatedfae).
Here’s how it works:
- Link back to this page on Caffeinated Fae.
- If the prompt idea comes from another blog, link to that blog as well.
- Use #FaeFriday when posting to social media so we can all find each other!
- Participate when you can and have fun with the prompt!
This weekend marks the end of the Colorado Renaissance Festival 2021 season so the prompt this week is: What are some books you’ve read that feature royalty?
Royalty seems to be a recurring theme in fantasy books, so I’ve read a ton of books featuring royalty. For this prompt I’m going to limit this to some of my recent reads and some older favorites.
- These Feathered Flames by Alexandra Overy
- Capture the Crown by Jennifer Estep
- King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
- Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
- Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko
- The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
What about you? What are some of your favorite books featuring royalty?

Ooh These Feathered Flames is on my TBR! It’s one of my anticipated releases of this year, and I hope to get a copy soon

It was really good! I was looking forward to it so much, and it made my day when my library hold arrived.

Throne of Glass is definitely a firm favourite! I also loved The Folk of the Air series and am just in the middle of Raybearer. So many choices!
