TTT – 2022 Releases I’m Excited For

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

This week’s prompt is a freebie, and I’m going to talk about some of the 2022 releases that I’m most excited about! In no particular order, I’m really looking forward to:

  1. The Ivory Key by Akshaya Raman (January 4) — Magic, a prized resource, is the only thing between peace and war. When magic runs out, four estranged royal siblings must find a new source before their country is swallowed by invading forces. The first in an Indian-inspired duology.
  2. Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon (January 11) — A TV meteorologist and a sports reporter scheme to reunite their divorced bosses with unforecasted results in this charming romantic comedy from the author of The Ex Talk.
  3. The Red Palace by June Hur (January 25) — Joseon (Korea), 1758. There are few options available to illegitimate daughters in the capital city, but through hard work and study, eighteen-year-old Hyeon has earned a position as a palace nurse. All she wants is to keep her head down, do a good job, and perhaps finally win her estranged father’s approval.
  4. House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas (February 15) — Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to get back to normal―they may have saved Crescent City, but with so much upheaval in their lives lately, they mostly want a chance to relax. Slow down. Figure out what the future holds.
  5. Ashes of Gold by J. Elle (March 2) — In the heart-pounding conclusion to the Wings of Ebony duology, which #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicole Yoon calls “bold, inventive, big-hearted and deeply perceptive,” Rue makes her final stand to reclaim her people’s stolen magic.
  6. Wild and Wicked Things by Francesca May (March 29) — In the aftermath of World War I, a woman gets swept into a glittering world filled with illicit magic, blood debts, and murder in this lush and decadent debut novel.
  7. A Forgery of Roses by Jessica S. Olson (March 29) — Myra Whitlock has a gift. One many would kill for. She’s an artist whose portraits alter people’s real-life bodies, a talent she must hide from those who would kidnap, blackmail, and worse in order to control it. Guarding that secret is the only way to keep her younger sister safe now that their parents are gone.
  8. Fevered Star by Rebecca Roanhorse (April 19) — Return to The Meridian with New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Roanhorse’s sequel to the most critically hailed epic fantasy of 2020 Black Sun—finalist for the Hugo, Nebula, Lambda, and Locus awards.
  9. Book of Night by Holly Black (May 3) — #1 New York Times bestselling author Holly Black makes her stunning adult debut with Book of Night, a modern dark fantasy of shadowy thieves and secret societies in the vein of Ninth House and The Night Circus.
  10. Book Lovers by Emily Henry (May 3) — A by the book literary agent must decide if happily ever after is worth changing her whole life for in this insightful, delightful new novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation.
