Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.
We’ve all read books that are so good that it’s ridiculously difficult to write a coherent review. This week’s topic was submitted by Dedra @ A Book Wanderer. I’m talking about books that were so good that I couldn’t come up with the right words to adequate express how great they were, and why exactly you should read them:
- Jade City by Fonda Lee
- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
- The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
- The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
- Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson
- The Pomegranate by S.J. Schwaidelson
- Once More With Chutzpah by Haley Neil
- Wahala by Nikki May
- Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend
- The City Beautiful by Aden Polydoros
What are books that were just too good for you to review properly?

I will need to look into Nevermoor. I’ve been seeing it on lots of lists lately. On today’s topic I sometimes can’t think how I want to write a review and then I procrastinate until I lose all initiative to write it. Years later I am disappointed when I go searching for that review I never wrote. Sigh. My TTT

Nevermoor quickly became one of my favorites – I highly recommend the audiobook version. I usually don’t give myself more than a day to try to organize my thoughts before attempting to write a review. I hope you get better about your reviews!

Usually, I have the opposite problem when reviewing—too many words! It’s tough for me to be succinct most of the time 🙂
Happy TTT!

That’s not always a bad thing! But some books just hit me hard enough that it’s difficult to organize my thoughts properly.

Reviewing it was definitely a killer – thankfully I did it as a buddy read so I had help organizing my thoughts.

Totally get why Hazelwood’s book made the list. SO. GOOD.

Right? I’m always so nervous about reading books that are super hyped, but this one deserved ALL THE HYPE!

Thank you! It’s strange how easy it is to write a review for books I don’t love, but completely blank when I truly love a book.

We both had Six of Crows on our lists this week! I forgot about The Goldfinch. It definitely could have made my list, as well. Black Cake was also hard to review properly, but I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. Several others are still on my tbr. Especially The Love Hypothesis. I just ordered a copy so hopefully I can read it soon! Great choices this week!
