ADAPTATION SNOB: Do you always read the book before watching the film/ TV show?

Nearly always. Occasionally I’ll watch a movie or show before I realize that it’s based on a book, but if I know it’s based on a book I will always make the effort to read the book first. I find that the book is almost always better than the movie (except in a select few cases).

FORMAT SNOB: You can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, eBooks, or audiobooks?

Probably physical books. There’s just something amazing about holding an actual book in my hands that I can’t resist. Although I do value eBooks and audiobooks, they don’t hold a candle to my love for physical books.

SHIP SNOB: Would you date or marry a non-reader?

I absolutely would. I’ve dated non-readers in the past, and healthy relationships don’t always mean that every single hobby has to be the same. However, they would have to be willing to listen to me gasping at plot twists and ranting/raving about what I’m reading at the moment.

GENRE SNOB: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

I’d ditch horror in a heartbeat. I never read it because I actually enjoy sleeping.

UBER GENRE SNOB: You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life. Which genre do you choose?

Man, this is such a tough one! I love reading books from a bunch of different genres, because I feel like I’d get tired just reading one genre. But if I could only pick one … I guess I’d pick sci-fi/fantasy since it isn’t limited to just one world and the amount of creativity in the genre is pretty diverse. But I’d still be sad and miss all my other genres.

COMMUNITY SNOB: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

I feel like either romance or YA gets a lot of snobbery from the bookish community. Romance gets viewed as smut and not very well-written (which some books have been in the past), although I’ve also read some really amazing romance novels. For some reason, YA gets a lot of flak too as not being “real” books and not being suitable for older readers, but as a reader who is firmly entrenched in adulthood, I absolutely love YA books and the complex characters and plots that I’ve read.
