Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.
Books I’d Want With Me While Stranded On a Deserted Island – is this a dream? Being stranded with no one to interrupt me, surrounded by books? I’m going with series this week. Because I happen to love series, and with the way I read, I already know that ten books isn’t going to last me very long on a deserted island.
- Earth’s Children by Jean M. Auel — if I’m stranded someplace, I don’t know the first thing about anything. This book is basically a handbook for how to live off the land. I’m going to need this series to make it for more than a couple of days!
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas — this is a nice long series, and I’m 100% sure that there are plenty of things I missed the first time around. I can easily see myself diving right back into this series.
- The Shadowhunters series by Cassandra Clare — I love these books, although they’re such easy reads. I’d love to go back through them and give them a reread.
- The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi — with the last book coming out in September, what better time to read through the whole series? Without anyone to disturb me!
- The Grishaverse by Leigh Bardugo — how could I skip this series? Now that I’ve read it all through once, I would absolutely have to go through it all over again.
- A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin — yeah, I know this *still* isn’t done (grumbles loudly) but … I’ve read these books so many times over the years, and still manage to pick up on something new every time. I kind of feel like at this point in time, writing my own fanfic of an ending would be faster than waiting for the author himself to do anything with them.
- The Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown — man, I love these books. Even if the series isn’t finished yet, I can already tell that these are the kind of books I can reread multiple times.
- Kingsbridge by Ken Follett — if I’m staying on a deserted island for a long time, I’m going to need some long books to keep me occupied. And although I’ve only read the first super-long book in this series, this is definitely one that I’m enjoying.
- Outlander by Diana Gabaldon — there’s no way I could skip out on the romance in this series! I love these books (plus they’re also super long) so they’re coming with me.
- The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich — I love Stephanie’s sassy attitude and the hilarious situations that occur in these stories! She’s got to join me on this deserted island for some comic relief.
What about you guys? Which books or series would you pick?

I’d want books I’d like to reread over and over…or super long books, like the whole Outlander series. My TTT is off-topic this week. My list

Ooh, the Earth’s Children series is a great pick! There was so much practical knowledge in it.

That’s what I figured! I will probably need all that information if I’m stranded on a desert island.

I haven’t read all the books in the Grishaverse yet. I did read the Six of Crows duology and really enjoyed it. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

I also chose Jean Auel’s books – Clan of the Cave Bear too, and for the same reason! My TTT: https://readingwithkat.wordpress.com/2021/07/27/ttt-books-i-would-want-with-me-on-a-desert-island/

You know what they say – great minds think alike! Plus, it doesn’t hurt that I love the story too.

I just got into that series, and love it!

Eight books wouldn’t last any of us very long on a deserted island, would it?
Happy TTT!

Not at all, especially if there was nothing to do and no one to interrupt us!

Book series are a great way to go for this theme. I too wouldn’t be able to limit myself to ten books only. Only ten, do I go for practical, ambitious or for comfort reads.

Same! Ten just wouldn’t be enough. It had to be series.

I went in a slightly different direction this week, but if I had played by the rules, the Stephanie Plum series definitely would have made my list too! Definitely the perfect read for kicking back with a laugh.

I only recently got into that series on a recommendation from my sister-in-law, but it has quickly won me over!

Outlander made my list, as well. But only the first book since I went the literal route. Ha! I’ve reread The Infernal Devices multiple times but I’ve never reread The Mortal Instruments. And it would be good because there are so many books. 😉

Right? I love the other CC series way more than TMI, but I kind of feel like now that I’ve read the others, I’d pick up on so much more from TMI, so maybe I’m due for a reread.
