Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

For today’s prompt, we were given a pretty broad topic of May flowers, and left to ourselves as far as what we wanted to do with this. Where I live, the flowers are all starting to bloom, and I can’t go anywhere without seeing them. I decided to be kind of basic and go with books that have flowers on the covers, because I love seeing how beautiful they are, and I’ve also been planting some flower seeds of my own this year. So with no further ado, here are ten of my favorite books with flowers on the cover:

- Belladonna by Adalyn Grace — I love the cover of this book, with the mask made of flowers, and the story was a perfectly fitting one.
- The Lost Prince by Cait Marie — Besides being one of my favorite series, I have to say that this is one of my favorite pretty book covers, and it easily earned a cover-out space on my bookshelf.
- Moloka’i by Alan Brennert — The stunning Hawaiian woman on the cover surrounded by tropical flowers caught my attention, but the story held it, with the disability and native Hawaiian representation.
- Uprooted by Naomi Novik — This story has the feel of a fairy tale, and the most beautiful illustration of a rose on the cover.
- Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett — I love the flower border on the cover, but not as much as I love the story and the characters inside the book.
- The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow — This is one of those books that’ll probably take up space in my head forever, and I’m so glad that there are roses on the cover so I was able to include this sapphic historical fantasy on this list.
- Lobizona by Romina Garber — The cover of this Argentine fantasy is so pretty and full of flowers, but the book was even cooler.
- This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron — Flowers are all over the cover of this book, and the story of a Black girl with magical powers linked to a surprising source was unique and gripping.
- With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo — Flowers and fruits adorn this stunner of a cover, featuring a story about a teen mom who dreams of being a chef.
- Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust — I don’t see this book featured often, but the cover is a beauty, and the Persian-inspired fantasy with a sapphic romance I couldn’t put down makes this the perfect book for this list.
What are some of your favorite books featuring flowers on the cover?

Moloka’i is such a good book. Oh my! Why didn’t I include it on my list?

Thank you! I read it just as I was getting back into reading after a long break, and it was a wonderful book. But the cover was just so pretty to leave off a list like this.

I have Once and Future Witches and This Poison Heart on my list this week as well. The cover for Moloka’i is lovely, and instantly tells you where the book is set.

Thank you! Once and Future Witches and This Poison Heart were just too good to leave off the list, and I agree – there are no flowers quite like the ones that you see in Hawai’i!

I loved that duology! It’s a YA fantasy featuring a girl who has magic that she doesn’t understand, the journey to discover more about her family, and the secrets they had. I hope you give it a shot.

MOLOKA’I is a great book and the cover really is stunning. It definitely gives you Hawaii vibes, while also reflecting the story’s serious vibe. I haven’t read any of these others, but they do have beautiful covers.
Happy TTT!

I know the feeling – too many books, not enough time? The Belladonna series is outstanding, and the last book should be coming out soon, so that would be the perfect time to read the series. And The Once and Future Witches is amazing!
