Book Review

Snatched

This fast-paced short story was an amazing read.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Amanda Wagner, Deputy Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, has been threatening Special Agent Will Trent with the worst assignment ever for most of this book series – monitoring the public toilets at the local airport for men cruising for sex. And now she’s followed through. What could he possibly have done to deserve this heinous job?

He let his hair grow to within a half-inch of his collar. Because his girlfriend likes to run her fingers through it.

Seriously. Poor Will. The guy finally finds a woman who doesn’t treat him like he’s dumb or something to abuse, and his boss finds a way to punish him anyway.

But somehow, in true Will Trent fashion, he finds a way to still be an amazing agent. His incredible intuition and knack for reading people’s body language and slight nuances in their language manages to land him right smack in the middle of a possible kidnapping. While monitoring the bathroom and getting ready to take his lunch break, he notices a little girl in the men’s bathroom whining that she wants to go home. It sets off alarm bells in his brain … along with the strange behavior of the man who is with her. He steps out of the stall and the man’s behavior seems to justify his concerns. He follows after the man and the little girl through the busiest airport in the world.

It’s a quick story, but it had me on the edge of my seat with my heart racing. Definitely worth the half hour or so to get into.
