Top Ten Tuesday

TTT 5 Star Predictions

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

Today’s prompt is about books on my TBR that I predict will be 5 star reads. I always hope that every book I choose is going to be a 5 star read, but sadly we all know that isn’t the case. I think I’ve picked out a pretty good lineup of books to read in February, so I chose all books for this list from my February TBR. There’s some authors I’ve read, and some series I’ve started but haven’t gotten all the way through yet, but some completely new authors too. This is turning out to be a bit harder than I thought it would be! Here’s my predictions for TBRs that will be 5 star reads:

#1. Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon

I loved Outlander so much I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one! I just hope it lives up to be as good (or better) as the first book.

#2. The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

I’ve heard some great things about this book, and with the second book coming out soon, I figured I should give it a shot.

#3. With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo

Another book I’ve heard great things about! Plus it involves cooking, which is something I also enjoy.

#4. King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard

After reading books 1 and 2 in record time, how could I not expect to love book 3?

#5. Lobizona by Romina Garber

This one sounded so interesting, I requested an ARC right after I first heard about it. Surprise! I got it.

#6. What Unbreakable Looks Like by Kate McLaughlin

Another ARC, this one sounds like it’s going to be a difficult read. But if it’s done well, it should be a great one.

#7. Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitch

Book 1 was smart and funny, and it was one of the first books I requested to loan through another library this month. Still waiting, but at least it’s on its way.

#8. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

The first two books in the series were great, and I’m a big fan of SJM. This one should be at least as good as the books that came before it, if not better.

#9. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

There’s so much hype around this one, and it’s a fairy tale retelling. I can’t wait to read it!

#10. House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig

Another fairy tale retelling with a dark twist? Yes, please!

What are some of the books on your TBR that you think will be 5 star reads?
