Rainy days — a great cozy read while a storm is pounding away
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson. The dark vibes make this book so perfect for reading during a storm.
Thunderstorm — a book that surprised you
Lifestyles of Gods and Monsters by Emily Roberson. I was so surprised at how well the author managed to bring a Greek myth into the 21st century, and actually make the story better than the original.
Birds are chirping — a book about music
The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu. I haven’t read this yet, but I know it’s about Nannerl Mozart. It is currently sitting on my shelf begging to be read.
Cozy blanket — a book that never gets old
The Harry Potter series (yes, all of them). How could I ever get tired of this series? I feel like every time I read it, I catch something new.
A whole new wardrobe — a book with a beautiful cover
The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden and All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace. These are seriously some of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen!
Baby animals — a book featuring adorable animals
Honey and the Hitman by Hannah Murray. I loved Milo so much!
Puddles — a book that was an A+ reading experience – one that was so fun to read (even if it wasn’t a total favorite)
With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo. The whole story was great, and I loved the style and the recipes (of course).
Candy — favorite books featuring a sweet, soft romance
We Set the Dark on Fire and We Unleash the Merciless Storm by Tehlor Kay Mejia. I don’t read a lot of books that have sweet, soft romances, but this duology has such a great romance that fits the bill!
Spring cleaning — a book you reread every year/fairly often
I reread the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin every so often. Usually to refresh myself on what’s happening in the series before the next book comes out, since there’s such a long gap between books.
Rainbow — your favorite LGBTQ books
Hook by Gina L. Maxwell and Dark and Deepest Red by Anna-Marie McLemore. Both were really great reads and included great LGBTQ characters.
Early bird gets the worm — a favorite March/April new release you read or favorite 2020 #ARC you’ve received
Sin Eater by Megan Campisi and The Lost Legends by Cait Marie. These two belonged to very different categories, but I think they were both done so well and I couldn’t put them down at all.
Picnic — a go-to book that travels everywhere with you or one that you always have on hand
If I have to go somewhere, I’m going to bring my Kindle which is packed with a ton of ebooks. I struggle with pre-planning what books I’d read when I travel, so I just make sure that I can choose from a wide array.
Declaring your spring TBR — list your three most anticipated reads for spring, and link to your full TBR (if applicable)
My three most anticipated reads? House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas (naturally), Don’t Call the Wolf by Aleksandra Ross, and Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova. If you want to see my full TBR, check out my Goodreads list here. Just a heads up, it’s A LOT.
