Thank you to Becky @ Becky’s Book Blog for tagging me in this. I’m super excited to participate in this one. And if you don’t already follow Becky, take the time to give her blog a look. She’s an awesome person and my favorite person to buddy read with!
Here are the rules for this tag:
- Nominated bloggers can nominate ten other bloggers.
- Use the same questions from the tag.
Who is your all-time favorite book character?
Whoa, there are so many to choose from, and I have to pick just one? I think I’d have to say Arya Stark from George R.R. Martin’s series A Song of Ice and Fire. She’s smart, tough, completely bad ass, and stubborn as hell. I loved her character from the start, but she just got better with every single book.
If you were stranded on a desert island, which book would you take with you? (Survival books do not count)
Seriously? I hate these “choose just one book” questions, because how could I ever be expected to pick just one book to read if I was stranded on a desert island? I’d have to at least take a series. Maybe the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas? I loved all the books, and I think that rereads would definitely let me pick up on things that I’ve missed.
What’s your most unpopular book opinion?
Hmmm, I have a few unpopular book opinions, so I’m honestly not sure which to share here. Probably that I tried reading Tolkien and found it boring?
What’s your weirdest bookish habit?
I don’t think that I have any weird bookish habits, although some people might find it strange that I start a new book right after finishing one. I get awkward and don’t know what to do in my downtime if I’m not reading.
What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?
Nikolai Lantsov from King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo. Hands down. I think he could charm anyone, and he’s smart, funny, handsome, and have I mentioned he’s a PRINCE? Although knowing my family, they’d either find something wrong with him or scare him off.
What made you decide to start a book blog?
After I was physically unable to start working, I started reading a lot to fill up my time. I set up a Twitter account and connected with other people who enjoyed reading, and saw that a lot of other people had book blogs. I figured that I could do it too, and decided to give it a shot, then I realized that I enjoyed it. Plus, it had the extra perk of allowing me to get ARCs!
What about reading and books do you love the most?
I love that reading opens new doors, and I can learn so much from books. I’ve learned about places, people, and cultures, as well as nurtured my imagination. Recently, I’ve gotten more involved in reading cookbooks, so they’ve helped me improve my kitchen game too.
What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?
I have a bachelor’s degree in biology, and a master’s degree in mental health counseling. I worked as a therapist for people with severe mental health and substance use issues, but I’m currently unable to work due to disability.
What are some book recommendations that became your favorites/obsessions?
Some of my favorite books that someone recommended to me include The Daevabad Trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty, The Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell, The Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown, The Brown Sisters series by Talia Hibbert, The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang, and The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee. I could seriously go on for days here.
What is the book you shove down everyone’s throat?
I guess this depends on who I’m recommending it to, and what I’ve read recently. But some standard favorites include The Brown Sisters series by Talia Hibbert, The Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown, and The Gilded Wolves series by Roshani Chokshi.

Yay to being the best buddy readers! Nikolai would be an amazing fake date, he would definitely charm the pants of any parents… although he may accidentally end up flirting with people too lol. I still really need to pick up the Red Rising series because everything I’ve heard about it has been positive. Great post, I really enjoyed reading your answers 😀

Oh fun! Thank you for tagging me! I immediately start a book when I finish one, as well. I can’t go to sleep unless I read first. 😉 And Nikolai is a great choice!
