Fae Friday is an awesome new weekly post created by Kristy at Caffeinated Fae. I’m super excited to participate in this (and to have been an avid supporter of it from the beginning)! A topic is provided each week, and Kristy is so welcoming to ideas from others. If you have any ideas for topics, reach out to her through her blog or on Twitter (@caffeinatedfae).
Here’s how it works:
- Link back to this page on Caffeinated Fae.
- If the prompt idea comes from another blog, link to that blog as well.
- Use #FaeFriday when posting to social media so we can all find each other!
- Participate when you can and have fun with the prompt!
It’s always fun to see how other book lovers organize their books! So, what do your bookshelves look like? How do you organize them? Is there a method to the madness?
I used to always organize my books alphabetically, but then I’d be frustrated with how the books weren’t organized in size order. But then I started seeing people on bookstagram that organized their books by colors and their shelves looked so beautiful. So I reorganized my shelves.
My shelving system is organized by color in rainbow order. I have one shelf devoted to classic literature, one shelf devoted to Jewish books, one shelf devoted to paperbacks, two shelves for hardbacks, and then another shelf for the books that I have currently checked out of the library. Yes, please don’t judge me for having enough books checked out from the library at any given time to fill up an entire shelf of books. I’m not going to actually show my own bookshelves, because they’re a little cluttered at the moment. But i’m really happy with how they look, and it makes it easy to find what I’m looking for.
How do you organize your bookshelves?

Pretty much like a bookshop- first by genre and then by author
