Top Ten Tuesday

TTT – Most Recent Additions To My Book Collection

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

This week’s prompt (most recent additions to my book collection) is tough for me. I don’t typically buy books due to limited funds, so the majority of my reading material comes from ARCs or the library. For holidays, my family doesn’t generally give gift cards, since they prefer to give more personal gifts, and they never ever give me books. I actually prefer that they don’t, since they don’t get my taste in books, and I’m already swimming in ARCs most of the time. However, when I do get some money, I do usually spend it on books, most often at book sales. Here’s some of the books that I’ve purchased most recently, and I use the term “recently” to mean at some point in the last 6 months:

  1. House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson
  2. The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi
  3. REDACTED due to Harper Collins Union Strike
  4. REDACTED due to Harper Collins Union Strike
  5. REDACTED due to Harper Collins Union Strike
  6. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
  7. A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
  8. Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo
  9. My Brilliant Friend by Elana Ferrante
  10. The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik

Have you read any of these? What books have you purchased recently?

  1. I read A Great And Terrible Beauty, but it’s been a while and I think I’ll need to re-read it if I want to continue with the series. Thank you for calling out the HarperCollins strike… I really hope they can get that all resolved soon, but it’s an important cause and we as book bloggers need to help raise awareness.

    Happy reading!

    • I think I’m super late to the party on that book. And I think it’s so important for us to speak up as book bloggers on the HarperCollins strike, since it’s been over a month and they still haven’t come to terms. I won’t be hyping any books or sharing reviews until that’s resolved. Thanks for stopping by!

      • You’re welcome! I agree that it’s been too long without a resolution on the strike. I have some of their books in my posts coming up, but I made sure to include information about the strike on any post that includes relevant books.
