Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.
This week’s prompt is bookish wishes, and I’m excited to talk about some of the books that are on my wishlist. I have a range of books on my wishlist, which I’m going to share here. There are a ton of books on my list, but here are ten of the books I’m hoping to get at some point:

- The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn. I’ve never read a Kate Quinn book, but I’ve been planning to for some time, and I’ve had my eye on this one (no pun intended).
- The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. I’ve heard so many good things about this author, and this book in specific, so I had to add it to the list.
- The Boy with the Star Tattoo by Talia Corner. I rarely do Holocaust fiction, but this book is about how Israelis came to Europe to track down Jewish orphans in the wake of the Holocaust. It’s also currently getting review-bombed by people who are offended by the historical nature of the story involving Israel so I felt like it’s important to pre-order a copy.
- Past Present Future by Rachel Lynn Solomon. I’m so excited about this sequel to Today Tonight Tomorrow, which I absolutely loved, and I never get approved for ARCs of RLS books. I need a copy for my shelves, too.
- A Morbid Taste for Bones by Ellis Peters. A murder mystery series featuring a medieval monk as the lead detective? Oh, absolutely. This series starter has been on my TBR for so freaking long it’s embarrassing.
- Wisteria by Adalyn Grace. I absolutely need the last book in this series, plus look at how pretty it is! This cover must grace my shelves.
- The Pomegranate Gate by Ariel Kaplan. This book was so Jewish and gorgeous and just a fascinating and creative masterpiece, that I had to add it to my wishlist immediately after finishing my ARC.
- The Stolen Heir by Holly Black. How have I not read this at all yet? I absolutely went nuts for the Folk of the Air series and flew through them all in days.
- A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber. I loved the first two books in the series, but then just didn’t jump back on the bandwagon when the third book came out, even though I still want to know what happen next in the series!
- Ayuni by Sarah Ansbacher. This book caught my attention around this time last year, and I keep meaning to buy it, but just haven’t gotten around to it. Maybe it’ll get gifted to me, or maybe not and I’ll wind up gifting it to myself next month for my birthday. Who knows? 🤷🏻♀️
What are some of your bookish wishes? Do we have any that are the same?

Thank you! I know for sure that I’m getting a copy of The Boy with the Star Tattoo – the publisher is sending me an ARC! As for the rest, I’ll be hoping that I get some of them for my birthday!

I reviewed Ayuni in Amazon and gave it 5 stars:
This is a charming tale of a Chassidish girl and a Mizrachi boy set primarily in London. While I found the ending to be more optimistic than real, it is a lovely read for a Shabbat afternoon.
Ms. Ansbacher does an admirable job in giving the reader a sense of both communities, while underscoring the differences. If you’ve never been exposed to sectarianism in Jewish life, this is will be a revelation. I found all the characters to be sympathetic in their own ways, and that’s not easy to do. It is really a well-told tale.
I would certainly recommend AYUNI.
And I would wish more people read DREAM DANCER. It’s doing well at the moment, and I’m rather enjoying it.

I’ve got both on my TBR – I promise, I’m making good progress, and you know that Dream Dancer is #1 on my list once I have a little wiggle room. Ayuni is definitely going to happen – if I don’t get a copy by my birthday, I’m going to buy one for myself. Thank you for this review, it looks like a fantastic book!

I see Kate Quinn on lists quite frequently, but have never read anything by her. It seems like these books are well liked and read though so definitely should be (yet another!) author I need to read up on. 🙂

Yes! I feel like she’s one of those authors that everyone just adores, kind of like Kristin Hannah. It’s way past time for me to finally check her out.

Oh, I’m so glad to hear that! A librarian at my local library told me they were good, but it’s nice to know that someone in the blogging community agrees!

It’s one of the rare series recommended to me by both my mum and my dad, so I wasn’t too surprised to enjoy it myself, haha. If it can appeal to both of them, with very different tastes… 😅

I’m so glad to hear that you’re going to check out The Boy With the Star Tattoo now! I actually reached out to the publisher and requested a copy, and they were super receptive. So it looks like I’ll definitely be getting a copy of that one! But I’m so curious about The Diamond Eye.

I love Kate Quinn’s books. The Diamond Eye is one of the books I haven’t gotten around to finishing yet. But if world war related historical fiction is your thing, then you should check out her books. My faves are The Rose Code, The Alice Network & The Huntress.

I actually stay away from WWII related fiction for the most part, which is probably why I haven’t read any of her books, but since this is set in Russia, I figure I can manage it. I’m really looking forward to it – I hear nothing but great things about her books!

The Alice Network is set during WWI, and if my memory serves me right the Rose Code though it’s set during WWII, it’s mostly about the codebreakers in England. But I hope you enjoy this and it lives up to the hype.
