Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.
Happy Tuesday! This week’s prompt sounded like a fun one, but I don’t really tend to Google weird or funny things because of books. Most of the time, I wind up Googling terms only to discover that they are foods, followed by me looking up recipes to discover how difficult it might be to make those recipes. So instead, I want to share the top ten books that have made me laugh out loud. Since I recently just finished a book that had me cracking up while reading, I figured I’d share the joy with all of you. Here goes!

- That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf by Kimberly Lemming. This one is hilarious, and it’s got just the right amount of spice and romance to make this the perfect paranormal rom-com.
- Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree. This one is so sweet that it falls into the category of cozy fantasy, but there were some really funny moments.
- One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. I cracked up so many times while reading this series starter where Stephanie Plum navigates her new job as bounty hunter, working in the same town that she grew up in, and dealing with a whole cast of quirky characters, including her family members. Grandma is a real trip!
- Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano. I couldn’t listen to this one while driving, because I’d be laughing so hard tears would come to my eyes and I wouldn’t be able to see the road clearly. It’s a wonderful book that you should pick up if you haven’t, and I highly recommend the audiobook.
- When You Wish Upon a Lantern by Gloria Chao. This sweet YA romance had some really funny moments to it, and the story was a great one.
- A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn. A historical fiction series starter involving a female sleuth and her partner in crime-solving, this book had some laugh out loud moments.
- You Are My Sunshine by Sean Dietrich. It’s not often that you’ll find a nonfiction book that makes me chuckle, but this is such a funny memoir.
- The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers by Adam Sass. This is a YA gender-bent contemporary retelling of Cinderella, and there were so many times I couldn’t hold my laughter back while reading.
- Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher. I find her writing to always have at least a touch of humor in it, so all of her books make me laugh, but this one was especially humorous to me.
- Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. His books are so funny, but it’s that dry British humor, which I appreciate to the fullest.
What are some books that make you laugh out loud?

The book by Ellie looks so fun! I own book one and it seems like a book that I’d quite enjoy. Also, Janet’s always did sound fun, but I haven’t read any. Maybe one of these days I will. 🙂

I love the title of the first book you’ve listed; it’s hilarious! I remember the first time I laughed while reading a book in public while I was on the bus heading to work. Everyone turned around and gave me weird looks. I had to learn to hold in the laugh after that.

Haha, that series has the best names! I usually listen to audiobooks while driving, and I’m one of those people who act like I’m invisible in my car, because I crack up in the car by myself 🤣

The Stephanie Plum series is one of my favorites! And OMG, I loved Legends and Lattes. So much so that I stumbled across a coffee website – Fable Grounds – that sells L&L themed coffee. Yes, I have issues. Hah.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

I love finding people who love my underrated favorites, like Stephanie Plum! I’ve gotten a little sample from Fable Grounds in a book box a few years ago – they sell all kinds of fantasy themed coffee, so it isn’t you with the issues.

Rivers of London is on my list of books I want to read. I so rarely laugh out loud but one book that achieved it was Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Sutanto.
Have a great week!

It’s such a good one! And since you’re a Brit, you’ll most likely get the jokes that I probably missed because I don’t know the slang 🤣 But you definitely need to read it!!
