Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.
This week’s topic is perfectly aligned with my 2025 goals, in discussing the ten most recent additions to my book collection. I’m fortunate enough to get hard copies of some ARCs, so those are going on the list, as well as any that were sent to me by gifting fairies around the holidays. Hopefully, I’ll have the opportunity to read all ten of them in the upcoming year. Here are the ten newest books gathering dust on my shelves:

- The Radiant King by David Dalglish — After loving The Vagrant Gods series, I couldn’t pass up getting a copy of this one.
- The Raven Scholars by Antonia Hodgson — This is a new to me author, but the story just sounded so good I had to request it.
- Greenteeth by Molly O’Neill — Another upcoming read in the cozy fantasy genre, and it looks so adorable.
- A Crown So Silver by Lyra Selene — A second book in the series, I am so ready to dive back into this gorgeous setting.
- Grave Empire by Richard Swan — If you’ve been following my blog, you may have noticed that I have a slight obsession with Richard Swan novels, and I’m sure this will be no exception.
- Blacklight Born by Alexander Darwin — The conclusion to the Combat Codes Saga, I loved how the series wrapped up in this one, although I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want any more books in this world. Bonus points to me for having already read this one.
- Warrior Girl Unearthed by Angeline Boulley — I love her writing, and a friend gifted me a copy of this one. I know I’ll always think of her when I read this or look at the beautiful cover.
- Lord of the Flyfest by Goldy Moldavsky — Gifted by another friend, I love the savage and feral tone of the summary and the cover is a stunner. I can’t wait to read this one, finally.
- Magical Meet Cute by Jean Meltzer — I’ve had this on my TBR for so long, and I wound up getting a signed copy from an indie bookstore.
- Georgie Summers and the Scribes of Scatterplot — I was lucky enough to get a paperback ARC and then two hardback finished books, so I’ll be doing a giveaway of this MG novel soon.
Now you know what’s sitting on my shelf and silently judging me. What books have you recently added to your collection?

I have far too many dust collectors on my shelf. Someday I’ll start marking them as “read.” Just have to start reading them all (there are lots waiting to be discovered I am sure). Hope you enjoy these all; I don’t think I recognize any, but I love looking at pretty new covers. 🙂

Thank you! And I don’t know why it is so hard to read books I bring home as compared to ARCs or audiobooks. I do a backlist buddy read with a friend sometimes, and that really helps!

Haha no judgement from me. I am exactly the same, looking at all the books I need to read 😶
I hope that you enjoy them when you get to them!
Have a great week!

Thank you! I don’t know why it’s so hard to read the books on my shelves. Maybe it’s a weird form of FOMO?

I am exactly the same. It is very hard to describe 😂 I want to read them all but then a book comes up with a deadline and another and another and before you know it the year is gone and the shelf books have stayed there 😶

This exactly! And it’s worse when I get the latest book in a really involved series, because I don’t always have time to reread multiple books, especially if they’re long (*cough* Sarah J. Maas *cough*) or there are too many in the series.

Yeah. Surely no one has that sort of time 😂

Oooo I am so excited to hear your thoughts on Greenteeth! I really want to read that one. And Georgie Summers looks really good too!
And I hope you enjoy Warrior Girl! I loved it and I love that author!

I’m really excited for both Greenteeth and Georgie Summers. I got sent a paperback ARC and 2 hardcovers, and I’m hoping to do a giveaway (if I can figure out how). Thank you so much for Warrior Girl – Boulley’s first book was outstanding, so I’m fully expecting to love this one too.

I am, for sure, not judging you. I keep picking up free books from different promotions and now I’ve gathered over 200 that I’m not sure I’ll ever read. I hope you’re able to get to these soon.

Why is it so hard to us to read the books we own? Hopefully I’ll eventually make time to read all the books in my Kindle lol!

Never gain that many books at once- only have 3 new books
1. The Spellshop
2. Broadway Musicals
3. The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians

The first book is on my TBR, and The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians sounds like an interesting one. I hope you enjoy them!

I first found The Spellshop at a fun store that isn’t a bookstore. The blurb sounded like someone I would love. Got it for Christmas and after going into Park Road Books (favorite independent bookstore in Charlotte), I found a tiny review of that same book
Turns out even I found good vibes from just that tiny notecard- it said things I love about some books. “Found Family, Fantasy or Fairy Tale (don’t remember which), and a Cozy read”. Come on, everyone needs a cozy read from time to time
