Today’s topic is the Winter Court: it’s known to be dark, chilling, and sensible. They’re the faerie representation of winter, and I actually helped to create today’s prompt, which is: what book left you feeling the winter chill?

I’ve read a bunch of books that left me feeling chilly, but when I was thinking of what book to choose, Perfect Crime by Helen S. Fields stuck out especially. All of the books in the DI Callanach series are ridiculously creepy, and I inevitably start them in the afternoon for some reason. However, I can’t stop reading once I’ve started or I won’t be able to sleep — you know, in case the villain somehow escapes the book and gets to me before I figure out who they are! (I know it’s irrational, but my brain doesn’t quite comprehend that when I’m reading a chilling book).

What’s your bookish equivalent of the Winter Court?
