June felt like it was here and gone in a blink. I reconnected with an old friend and went to a couple of local fairs, and my youngest nephew graduated high school! So there was some more social stuff going on in June, meaning I didn’t have as much time to read as usual. There’s also something going on with my focus, so I’m struggling to sit down and read digital or print books for as long as I’m used to.
Here’s an update on my June highlights:
- My blog gained 13 new followers, for a grand total of 782. Still making progress towards that short-term goal of 800.
- I’ve been trying to make progress on my physical ARCs, but I’m still behind. I’m doing better with NetGalley ARCs, reading through my August ARCs. I’m hoping to get on track this month.
- Of the 26 books I read in June, only 2 were nonfiction. One was true crime, and the other was a social justice book.
- I didn’t read any of the books that I own this month, unfortunately.
- As far as diverse voices, I read 3 books by Black authors, 5 by Jewish authors, 4 by LGBTQIA+ authors, 2 by Asian/Pacific Islander authors, 1 by a SWANA author, and 3 by Latine authors.
- I’ve been trying to read genres outside of my comfort zone, so in June I read 2 horror books, 1 social science book, and 1 true crime book.
- Once again, I didn’t read any 12 in 12 challenge books or PopSugar reading challenge books.

June:
Fun things- Live Action Mermaid Movie and two Pops Concerts (aka Symphony in the Park). Any June most likely will have the POPS, an annual thing that happens in Charlotte. It is true- once June hits, months go by quickly
Reading- true, didn’t finish anything (at least, my 5th read is still making progress)

Excellent job with your reading! I’m SO HAPPY that more people are reading V.E. Schwab’s “Villains” series; and, I know, “Victorious” is going to be EPIC!!!
I need to read Tara Sim’s and R.S. Ford’s books, too!

The Villains series is outstanding so far – I’m blown away by it! And thank you.
You seriously need to get on top of your Orbit books – they’re so good lately!

I know, I know! Orbit has been VERY patient with me with my…lack of reading their books. I need to work on that ASAP!!!

Me too – I got behind when they sent a few books late, and I’m really trying to get back on track.
