I’ve really missed doing Friday Favorites, and since no one was currently hosting it, Cait @ Functionally Fictional decided to jump into the gap. Each week, she provides a prompt, and I get to talk about my favorite books that fit the topic. Feel free to join in – the more the merrier!
This week’s prompt is all about books that feature celebrations in them, and I am definitely here for it. Besides, who doesn’t like a celebration? Here’s some of my favorite books with celebrations in the story:

- The City of Dusk by Tara Sim. Much of the book leads up to a celebration called Godsnight, where the heirs of the four major families of the realm have to work together.
- When You Wish Upon a Lantern by Gloria Chao. This story features multiple Chinese festivals throughout the book.
- The Rebel King by Gina L. Maxwell. With a new king comes a coronation, and that’s a big celebration.
- The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson. This one centers around a prom, but it isn’t quite the festive celebration.
- Eight Nights of Flirting by Hannah Reynolds. This story takes place over a winter break and features Chanukah and Christmas and New Years Eve celebrations.
- A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I have one word for you—Starfall. IYKYK.
- The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. There’s a wedding in this book, but things absolutely do not go as planned.
That’s all I can come up with right now. What are some books with celebrations that you love?
