Top Ten Tuesday

TTT – Books With My Favorite Color On The Cover

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

  1. The Undermining of Twyla and Frank by Megan Bannen. A cozy fantasy with a mid-life romance that hit the spot.
  2. New Nigeria County by Clare Brown. This audiobook was fantastic, and such a satirical twist on contemporary society and the issues we face.
  3. Labyrinth’s Heart by M.A. Carrick. Another book that I love, and such a great ending to the trilogy.
  4. The Bone Shard War by Andrea Stewart. This is another trilogy finale that was outstanding, and I highly recommend it to all fantasy readers.
  5. When You Wish Upon a Lantern by Gloria Chao. I was drawn by the pretty purple cover, but I really loved the sweet YA romance inside.
  6. Emperor of Ruin by Django Wexler. I really got into this sci-fi/fantasy trilogy, and all the covers are really pretty, but you know I loved the purple cover the most.
  7. We Dream of Gods by Devin Madson. Maybe there’s something about final books, but here’s another great series finale with a purple cover.
  8. The Valley of Horses by Jean M. Auel. I read this series for the first time as a teenager, and I still love this book the best. Watching Ayla become independent and step into her own power is amazing.
  9. The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. This is such an interesting book, how could I not love it?
  10. Cool for the Summer by Dahlia Adler. It’s a bisexual sliding doors-type YA romance with a pretty purple cover. It’s basically guaranteed that I’ll love it.

What’s your favorite color? Have you read any of these? What did you think?

    • There has been a bunch of purple covers that came out in the last few years, and Gloria’s is hands down the prettiest, in my opinion. I think I’m going to change my shelf so that one is face out.

  1. Let me guess. PURPLE? I love purple things, too. Thanks for visiting my blog. I love Demon Copperhead, too, but it would never work for my sister’s book club since the book is crammed full of drama! Ha!

    • Haha, we purple people tend to find each other! Demon Copperhead is such a fantastic book, but yeah, it is full of drama. I forgot the main concept of the book club 🙄 clearly! I’ll have to put some more thought into this one.

    • Thank you! There’s all kinds of covers for this book – I don’t think I ever owned the purple cover, but I must admit that I like the newer covers that I got with the kindle versions.

    • I never read the sequels to The Bone Witch either, but I did enjoy the first book, and the cover is really, really pretty. I highly recommend the Drowning Empire series if you like fantasy.

    • There are, and there’s so many beautiful green covers as well! My favorite color does shift depending on the day, the weather, my mood, and a bunch of random factors, but I do love a gorgeous purple book cover.
