State of the ARC

State Of The ARC #45

I finished October with 21 ARCs left to be read.

November was a whirlwind of a month. I started it in New York, and flew down to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with my family members, and go to my youngest great-nephew’s fourth birthday party. I also got to meet my other great-nephew for the first time, and hang out with my two great-nieces. It’s really awesome to see the boys that I spent so much time with as a kid grow into men who are incredible fathers to their own kids. I was only 6 when I became an aunt, so I basically grew up with them. Naturally time has been flying by, and I’m already dreading when I have to say goodbye to everyone and head back to NY, but I can’t wait to come out of the airport and feel cold air on my face.

Aside from the travel, November was a fantastic month as far as ARCs went. I got approved for some books that I was really looking forward to, and discovered some more that intrigued me. Considering the travel and that I spent the last ten days of the month with my family, I didn’t have as much time to read as I usually do but somehow managed to read more of my ARCs that I normally do. My feedback ratio is at 96%, and I’ve been getting on top of my ARC backlog, ending the month with less books to get through than when I started.

Here’s how this month went for my NG ARCs:

  1. It’s amazing that your feedback ratio is so high. I guess the more you read the higher number of ARCs you can have in your queue and still maintain a good ratio. I deleted my NetGalley account and started over so I can only have about 2 or 3 books on my shelf at a time.

Some of these books look really good but none are in my queue. I also haven’t requested any in quite some time.

    • I’ve been trying to request less, but every so often they post a book that I can’t wait to read. I started with NG in 2019, and have reviewed quite a lot of books, but I can absolutely understand wanting to start over. I’m hoping to get this list down to single digits soon!
