Happy March to you all! February flew past, and I’m not going to give another update, since you can see all about my month in my State of the ARC post that you can check out here. But there were some highs and lows, as usual. One thing that I haven’t mentioned yet is that I have gotten a little change of scenery.
Typically, I do all my computer work in the corner of my room that’s set up as a comfy spot, and I spend almost all my time in there. My mom likes to hang out in the living room, so she can comfortably watch the talk shows that she has gotten into. But after having such a hard time getting around and relying on my mom, who isn’t doing much better, makes me want to make her job as easy as possible. To do so, I’ve posted up in the corner of the living room, where I can elevate my leg, and I get a lot more sunlight.
Last month, I shared about how I would ultimately attempt to build a practice of daily reflection. In February, I got approved for a NetGalley ARC that is all about developing daily mindfulness. I guess that is my sign that this is what I should be doing. After the hustle and bustle of January, February was a much more relaxed month. I spent a lot of time taking care of my health, and am working on improving my daily routine.
The reading I did in February reinforced the idea that I have gotten over my reading slump, and managed to read even more books than I did in January. I also made sure to incorporate reads that I didn’t *have* to review, so that I can ensure that my reading stays joyful. Here are some of my February highlights:
- My little blog continues to grow. Each day is an opportunity to meet new blog friends.
- There were multiple reads that I did for fun, and it’s nice to know that the only date I have to worry about is the return date at the library.
- I read even more ARCs, and am practically caught up with my NG ARCs. Physical ARCs are a completely different story.
- Out of all of the books I read, I managed to squeak in 3 nonfiction reads, and they were all very informative.

How did February go for you?

I like having sunlight in my home office. When I go into work it’s just fluorescent lights. Eighteen is a really good number of books to read. I like how you got a bunch of backlist books read.

It’s so nice being near sunlight. It really does have such a positive impact, even if I just sit in a sunny room.
I really liked making time for backlist reads, and 18 is also a very lucky number in Jewish culture. It’s a solid number of books to get through in a month.
