Fae Friday is an awesome new weekly post created by Kristy at Caffeinated Fae. I’m super excited to participate in this (and to have been an avid supporter of it from the beginning)! A topic is provided each week, and Kristy is so welcoming to ideas from others. If you have any ideas for topics, reach out to her through her blog or on Twitter (@caffeinatedfae).
Here’s the rules:
- Link back to this page on Caffeinated Fae.
- If the prompt idea comes from another blog, link to that blog as well.
- Use #FaeFriday when posting to social media so we can all find each other!
- Participate when you can and have fun with the prompt!
Today’s prompt comes from NeriSiren, and you can find their awesome blog here. Part of what I love about Fae Friday is that I often learn something new about the Fae. NeriSiren explains more about an area of Fae I don’t know much about:
The October Daye series has taught me that the original seal faeries — the Roane — were not only shape-shifters but also prophets. They could see and predict the future. In honor of the Roane, today’s prompt is:

I tend to make a TBR list at the beginning of each month, and I have some awesome books on my list for this month! Some of the ones I’m most excited about are:
- Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake *eligible for bonus points
- The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
- Dread Nation by Justina Ireland
- The Lost Queen by Signe Pike *eligible for bonus points
- An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
And last but not least,
The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell
My nephew has been after me to read this for months, and I can tell it’s really painful for him to wait for me to read it so we can talk about it. This is after I’ve been trying to get him to read books for decades, and he FINALLY DID! So, I think I have to hold up my end of the deal and read the one book he finally asked me to read. So, Jared, I promise to read this one by the end of the month.
Yeah, there’s a lot of books concerning crowns and royalty. It’s just one of those months!
What books are you looking forward to this month, and will any of them get you bonus points? (Fae-related, or featuring prophecies/fortune-telling/crystal balls)
