Friday Favorites – Fantasy Worlds

I’ve really missed doing Friday Favorites, and since no one was currently hosting it, Cait @ Functionally Fictional decided to jump into the gap. Each week, she provides a prompt, and I get to talk about my favorite books that fit the topic. Feel free to join in – the more the merrier!

Part of what makes fantasy so interesting is the worlds that are created. I love stepping into the pages of a book and feeling like I’m in a whole different world. However, there are some worlds that just captivated me so much that I want to literally visit. Here’s some of my favorite fantasy worlds:

  • Prythian from ACOTAR by Sarah J. Maas — this place sounds like such an amazing world, and I love how well-developed it is.
  • Ravka and Ketterdam from the Grishaverse books by Leigh Bardugo — these places sound amazing, and it makes me want to visit them!
  • Faerie from The Cruel Prince series by Holly Black — while it’s dangerous, it also sounds like such an intriguing and beautiful place.
  • Hell and the other afterlife realms from The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith — I loved all the places the characters visit throughout the course of the series, and it really made me think.
  • Nevermoor from the Nevermoor series by Jessica Townsend — this was such a cool and thoroughly well-created world that I want to go on a trip there. If only I could figure out how to get there …

What are some of your favorite fantasy worlds?
