Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.
This week’s topic comes from Dedra @ A Book Wanderer, and I had to go back pretty far, because I generally get through most of the books on my seasonal TBR lists, surprisingly.I’m constantly making TBR lists, but there’s always books that slip through the cracks. Sometimes it’s just because I don’t have access to the book, or because I don’t have time, or simply because I forgot about it. Here’s some of the books from my past seasonal TBR posts that I STILL haven’t read yet:

Spring 2022
- She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
- The Storyteller’s Secret by Sejal Badani
Winter 2021
- The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh
- The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samatha Shannon
- Sweet and Bitter Magic by Adrienne Tooley
- Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar
- Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
Books on my TBR by Black Authors
- How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House by Cherie Jones
- Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston
Winter 2020
- The Ruthless Lady’s Guide to Wizardry by C.M. Waggoner
What are some books from your previous seasonal TBR lists that you haven’t gotten around to yet?

The Samantha Shannon book has been teasing me for years. I find that my desire to read particular books depends on a lot of timing issues. If I don’t read a book soon after I place it on my TBR it will likely get shoved to the side by something else. My TTT list

Yes! I definitely have to read a new book right away or it’ll sit around forever. And Priory has been sitting around for years for me as well!

I enjoyed Priory of the Orange Tree a lot! And She Who Became The Sun looks amazing.
These are the books I still haven’t read from previous tbr posts!

I’ve heard such great things about them both, so I’m definitely looking forward to them.

I have the same problem with TBR lists! You’re not alone. 🙂

It’s definitely an ongoing problem, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how much progress I’ve made too, since I’ve also read a good portion of the books I’ve made with my seasonal TBRs.

I haven’t read The Priory of the Orange Tree yet either.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

I think the length of it is a bit intimidating, even though I’m expecting to love it.

These look good. I don’t do seasonal TBR lists, but maybe I should start! I do keep getting side tracked by Blog Tours though.
Have a great week!

I don’t usually do seasonal TBRs on my own, but there’s always TTT posts about it, so that’s what I referred back to. I do try to stick to a monthly TBR, at least as far as my ARCs and library books go. Enjoy your week too!

I’ve only blogged for a year and seemed to have missed out on them! I need to try and make more of an effort to go through my books. I get distracted by Blog Tours and library books so I will have to try and curb them!
Thank you 🙂

Library books always get me, but I’ve backed off blog tours in the last year or so.

I think because I’m still new to blogging etc the novelty hasn’t worn off yet 😂🤣

I’ve heard such great things about so many of them, so I hope we really enjoy them whenever we get to read them!

Shannon’s book is long, so I don’t blame you on that one. It’s a committment!

It is, but that never stops me before, so I don’t know what’s holding me back. Maybe it’s just all the hype about it? I’ve promised myself that I’m going to read it before the end of this year, though.

The Priory of the Orange Tree is one I need to read. And I’d pick up The Ruthless Lady’s Guide to Wizardry just for the title!
Stop by and see my top ten list!

I hope we all managed to get some of these books cleared. Something tells me it’s unlikely though! My TTT post is here: https://wordywitterings.com/2022/07/26/ttt-books-that-have-been-lingering-on-my-tbr-pile-for-far-too-long/

When going through my previous seasonal posts, I was actually surprised to see that I had read more than I hadn’t, so hopefully I’ll make more progress on these lists going forward!

I remember when Priory came out I wanted to read it SO bad. Still haven’t… 🙂

It feels like there’s two kinds of people in the book community: People who have read it and people who want to but have been putting it off forever LOL

Amari and the Night Brothers is a fantastic read! I’m hoping to read the next one soon.

I still need to read Priory too. It’s an investment – it’s so chunky! But I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. I want to read She Who Became the Sun as well. I did read Once Upon a Broken Heart and loved it!!

I’m in the middle of Once Upon a Broken Heart and loving it so far! And I’ve heard so many people rave about Priory and She Who Became the Sun and have promised myself to read them soon!

Oh that is a great list. I read and loved The Priory of the Orange Tree, but it seems people either love it or not. I have She Who Became the Sun on my shelf but haven’t read it yet.

Thank you! I have heard so many good things about both of those, and have them both on my shelf, so hopefully I’ll find out for myself what the hype is all about!

That’s pretty awesome that you read most of the books on your seasonal TBRs. I’m such a mood reader that I love to make the lists, but I’m okay if I only read one book on them. LOL. 😀

I usually have to get my books from the library (or NetGalley if I’m lucky) so I tend to actually read them when I get them! That’s the only reason 😂
