I know lockdowns have eased up, but I’m just now getting around to completing the Stay At Home book tag. I’d like to start by thanking Cielo at Bellerose Reads for tagging me in this, especially since I really love doing these tags!
I’m still spending a lot of time at home, since I’m in the high risk group. Days are filled with reading, weekly visits to the library, taking care of my dogs, facetiming with family, texting and messaging people, working on my blog, and more reading.
Let’s get to this tag!
Laying in bed: A book you read in a day.
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. I literally just finished this today, and don’t even have a picture of it yet, but I still wanted to shout it out because it was so good! Everything she writes is just gold.
4Snacking: A book that is a “guilty pleasure” to read.
I guess anything by Katee Robert or Gina L. Maxwell would be my guilty pleasure books.
Netflix: A series that you want to start.
Either The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang or Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. I am such a series person, so I usually dive right into series.
Deep clean: A book that has been on your TBR for ages.
Caucasia by Danzy Senna. It just sounds so interesting, and I have no idea why I haven’t read it yet.
Animal Crossing: A book you recently bought because of the cover.
I don’t usually buy books frequently, aside from my monthly OwlCrate subscription. I tend to pick up books impulsively based on the cover at the library, and the last book I grabbed strictly based off the cover was Uprooted by Naomi Novik.

Productivity: A book you learned from or had an impact on you.
I feel like I learn something from many books, but the one that I learned the most from recently was Stamped From the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. It was incredibly informative, and had a major impact on me.
Facetime: A book you were gifted.
The most recent book I was gifted was A Phoenix First Must Burn by Patrice Caldwell, courtesy of Amparo Ortiz. It’s gorgeous and I cannot wait to start reading it!

Self-care: What is one thing you have done recently to look after yourself?
I’ve been working on setting aside time to go to bed earlier, focusing on eating healthier, and drinking more water.
Bonus: An upcoming release you are looking forward to.
There’s so many upcoming releases that I’m excited about, but I’m definitely looking forward to The Faithless Hawk by Margaret Owen that is coming out next week!
I’m going to extend an invitation to anyone who wants to participate, but I’m also going to specifically tag:
- Susan @ Novel Lives
- Kristy @ Caffeinated Fae
- Leelynn @ Sometimes Leelynn Reads
- Danni @ For Books Sake
- Krista @ The Bookish HedgeMom
