TTT – New To Me Authors In 2020

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

This week’s topic is all about authors I read in 2020 that were new to me. And there were so many authors I read in 2020 that I had never read before. It was honestly a struggle to choose which ones to pick, so I just went with the books that were the most memorable for me for one reason or another.

Here they are (in no particular order):

  1. Sabaa Tahir, author of the series An Ember in the Ashes.
  2. Fonda Lee, author of the series The Green Bone Saga.
  3. Pierce Brown, author of the Red Rising Saga.
  4. R.F. Kuang, author of the series The Poppy War.
  5. Adiba Jaigirdar, author of The Henna Wars.
  6. Kate Stayman-London, author of One To Watch.
  7. Alix E. Harrow, author of The Once and Future Witches.
  8. Kerri Maniscalco, author of Kingdom of the Wicked.
  9. Rebecca Roanhorse, author of Black Sun.
  10. S.A. Chakraborty, author of The Daevabad Trilogy.

What new to you authors did you read in 2020?

  1. Great list! I read Sabaa Tahir and SA Chakraborty for the first time this year as well!
Really need to read Black Sun and Jade City!

  2. Great list, Leah! I had R.F. Kuang on mine today (I’m so glad that I finally read TPW in 2020!). Jaigirdar was a great new-to-me-author from 2020 as well 😃 I hope 2021 sees you discovering even more new and awesome authors! Happy reading 😊

  3. Brilliant list! I love the poppy war and I’ve always wanted to try black son books (although they seem a little daunting!). I seem to be really bad at following the ttt prompts lol so this week I tried top ten bookish things that annoy me. Although there could have been SO MANY MORE 😫 Here’s my post in case you’re interested 🙂
