Monthly Wrap Up

Monthly Wrap Up August 2022

August was a more relaxing month, and I got more reading done. My mom is doing a lot better, and things have calmed down at home, although I used that time to take care of more of my own health issues. Reading is my number one coping skill, followed by cooking, although I tend to stick to quick meals. I’m definitely looking forward to cooler weather though, so I’m happy to welcome September. Here’s some of my August highlights:

  • I gained 25 new blog followers, so I must be doing something right.
  • August was my best month for views since I’ve started my blog, so hopefully things just keep getting better!
  • I read 5 nonfiction books, including 2 memoirs and one on the topic of trans and nonbinary history. I have to say that Know My Name by Chanel Miller was a standout memoir.
  • Diversity is becoming a regular feature in the books that I read, with books being written by and about Jewish, Black, LGBTQ, Asian, Indigenous, and Latinx people featuring heavily in my monthly reading for August.

  1. oh wow, you read so many good books! I didn’t read as much in August as I initially hoped but my favourite of the month was definitely I’m Glad My Mom Died! I also listened to the audiobook and I’m still thinking about it. I’m very curious to see what Jennette McCurdy writes next, I read somewhere that she’s working on a novel!
