State of the ARC is a monthly meme temporarily hosted by Sarah at All The Book Blog Names Are Taken meant to motivate you to finish up your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). This is its original intention, while some bloggers have tweaked it a bit for their own purposes, such as just keeping ARCs in order by due dates. Or you can just be a hot mess like me who sometimes misses publishing dates (or ignores them altogether) and needs a way to stay organized on what has been read, reviewed, or is still begging for attention. Thank you to Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books for coming up with this super helpful monthly meme.
I finished January with 10 ARCs left to be read and 2 reviews to publish.
Wow, February just flew by, and I was not ready for that to happen. I was kind of expecting it to go slowly, like January! Anyone else feel like that, or just me? Anyway, I still managed to be rather productive, working my way through NetGalley ARCs. However, I did promise myself that I’d try to request less books, and that clearly didn’t work out at all. My ratio only went down a little, but is holding steady at 95%, and my goal for March is still to get it a little higher and get my list into single digits. I’m happy that the Harper Collins Union strike was resolved successfully, and I was able to publish my reviews. Overall, I think February was pretty successful.
I got approved for 10 new books in February:

- A Crown of Ivy and Glass by Claire Legrand
- The Invisible Hour by Alice Hoffman
- Assassin of Reality by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko
- The Everything One Pot Mediterranean Cookbook by Peter Minaki
- What the Neighbors Saw by Melissa Adelman
- Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher
- Once More with Feeling by Elissa Sussman
- House of Roots and Ruin by Erin A. Craig
- Someone Just Like You by Meredith Schorr
- Zero Days by Ruth Ware

I’m so excited for that one – I’ve loved every Kingfisher book that I’ve read so far, so I’m pretty sure this one will be just as amazing. 🤞🏻 that it is!
