State of the ARC is a monthly meme temporarily hosted by Sarah at All The Book Blog Names Are Taken meant to motivate you to finish up your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). This is its original intention, while some bloggers have tweaked it a bit for their own purposes, such as just keeping ARCs in order by due dates. Or you can just be a hot mess like me who sometimes misses publishing dates (or ignores them altogether) and needs a way to stay organized on what has been read, reviewed, or is still begging for attention. Thank you to Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books for coming up with this super helpful monthly meme.
I finished March with 24 ARCs left to be read.
Happy May! The month of April turned out to be unexpectedly busy for me, well … busier than I was already expecting. Between the weather getting nicer, Passover and family visiting, needing shoulder surgery (which I’m having today, so wish me luck!), my inability to stick to requesting less NG ARCs on a consistent basis, and our two puppies needing constant supervision, I’m really proud of myself for reading as many ARCs as I did, even if I didn’t get the chance to post two of the reviews for them yet. Despite the fact that I got approved for 9 books in April, I still managed to finish the month with my ratio maintained at 94%, even with 2 reviews still left to post. In my eyes, April was a success, and I’ll have plenty of reading and reviewing to keep me busy during my surgery recovery period.
I got approved for 9 new books in April:
- Sleep Like Death by Kalynn Bayron
- Brie Careful What You Wish For by Linda Reilly
